Catalog # 140100 – 100 tests
Description Simple, sensitive, rapid latex test for detecting the capsular polysaccharide of C. neoformans in serum and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), for diagnosing the infection and for the therapy follow-up.
Features - Qualitative and quantitative: has prognostic value - Includes pronase reagent: eliminates non specific reactions in serum specimens - Sensitivity 90-100%: greater confidence diagnostic results - Standardized reagents: minimize false positive results
SpecimensSerum and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF)
Kit Components Sample diluent, Detection latex, Control latex, Antibody control, Negative and Positive control, Pronase, Test slide, Reaction Reference Photograph.
Assay Protocol: - Clean test slides - Put 1 drop of Positive Control, 25μL of Antibody control, Negative Control and specimens in the designated rings - Put 1 drop of Detection latex into each of the designated rings - Put 1 drop of Control latex into each of the designated rings - Mix the contents of the rings - Rotate at 125 ± 25 rpm for 5 minutes - Read results
Interpretation of results - = a homogeneous suspension of particles with no visible clumping 1+ = fine granulation against a milky background 2+ = small but definite clumps against a slighty cloudy background 3+ = large and small clumps against a clear background 4+ = large clumps against a very clear background
Storage The kit must be stored at 2-8°C.
