Description

Direct immunofluorescence assay for the detection of Cryptosporidium oocysts and Giardia cysts from stool specimens, based on monoclonal antibodies.

 

Features

Specimens

Preserved stool: 10% formalin or SAF fixative may be used

Concentrated stool: increased sensitivity

 

Kit Components

Detection Reagent , Counterstain ,Wash Buffer , positive and negative control , Mounting Medium , Treated slides and transfer loops.

 

Assay Protocol:

1.     Place one drop of specimen on the slide and allow to dry.

2.     Add one drop of detection reagent and counterstain in each well

3.     Incubate for 30 minutes (in a humidified chamber)

4.     Wash with buffer.

5.     Add mounting medium and coverslip to the slide

6.     Examine the slide using a fluorescence microscope at 100-200x.

 

Storage

The kit must be stored at 2-8°C.
