Description
One-step single test assay for the qualitative detection of Rotavirus
and/or Adenovirus in human stools.

Specimen handling
The stool specimen, collected in an empty container, can be stored 1-2
days at 2-8°C before testing.
If testing is not performed within this time frame, specimens should be
frozen upon receipt (-20°C to -80°C).
Kit Components
Individually foil pouched strips, Extraction solution vial.
Assay Protocol
1. Transfer 1.0 ml of extraction buffer in a test tube
2. Add a sample portion and shake to resuspend it into the buffer
3. Vortex for 15 seconds
4. Wait at least 3 minutes until the solid particles settle or centrifuge
for 1 minute at 700 g and transfer 500 microliters of supernatant to another
test tube.
5. Dip the reaction strip in the second test tube
6. Read the result after exactly 5 minutes
Interpretation
of results
- Positive result: 1 band in the Control zone + 1 Red band in the Rota
Test zone and/or 1 Blue band in the Adeno test zone.
- Negative results: 1 band in the Control zone only.
Storage
The kit must be stored at 2-30°C.
